Letter from the CEO
I began my career at STAC more than 20 years ago. At that time I had studied engineering, but I wouldnt consider myself an engineer. I was highly motivated, yet lacked experience in production processes, materials, and many other aspects.
It was also the early years of the company, so I was mostly self-taught, learning as I went along in areas I hadn’t explored before. And that’s how it is in the beginnings: tough, but enriching.
You’re probably wondering… Why am I telling you all this?
Well, because over the years, the STAC team has implemented countless processes and grown in both capacity and complexity. But the most valuable aspect has been what you can’t see: the accumulated knowledge.
To get this far, we’ve made countless mistakes. And of course, we’ve faced many challenges. But with determination and perseverance, we’ve pushed through, learned, and kept moving forward.
Today, at STAC Industry, we’re entering a new phase by sharing some of our experiences with you. Through a series of articles, we’ll share the situations that have taught us valuable lessons.
Here are a few examples of the things I’ll be sharing with you…
- How in my early days, I left my watch as a deposit to hire a mould through an unreliable intermediary. (Two mistakes in one experience).
- When I met Mr. Antonio, an expert with more than 40 years of experience in aluminium moulding, and the lesson he taught me.
- The times when I switched to a supplier for a lower price, only to return to them later realizing the quality of their service.
We hope you will join us on this journey. We want to share what we have learnt and, at the same time, continue to learn with you.
For now, I’ll leave you with one thought for today:
An engineer is someone who has the ingenuity to solve a problem or find a solution to a need. It has more to do with that than with studies.
Thank you for being part of our story.
